Shumpty’s Punt: Weekend Mega Multi

In recent weeks I have been flirting around with four and five leg multis and, to be honest, have been going woefully! Rather than be put off by my current ordinary run of form I have decided for this weekend to weighed in with an 8 leg multi starting this afternoon.

Leg 1: Southland to cover the line (-3 points) against North Harbour in the ITM Cup.

Leg 2: Bulldogs to defeat the West Tigers by 13 points or more in the NRL.

Leg 3: Collingwood to cover the line (-11.5 points) against Greater Western Sydney in the AFL.

Leg 4: South Sydney to defeat North Queensland in the NRL.

Leg 5: Chelsea to defeat Leicester City in the EPL.

Leg 6: Swansea City to defeat Burnley in the EPL.

Leg 7: Tottenham to defeat Queens Park Rangers in the EPL.

Leg 8: Fremantle to cover the line (-25.5 points) against the Brisbane Lions in the AFL.

This multi will pay close to $50 for every dollar invested.

Please note: This multi kicks off at just after 5pm TODAY so get on!

  1. Please gamble responsibly.

Shumpty’s Punt: Sunday Special

It is Sunday and that means, unsurprisingly, there is sport to watch and punt on. I have looked at the sport that is on and have come up with this tip as my best of the day:

New Zealand Warriors to cover the line (-15.5 points) against the Cronulla Sharks at Mt Smart Stadium.  This bet will return $1.88 (on ladbrokes.com.au).

  1. Please gamble responsibly.

Winter Racing Carnival: Doomben 10,000

I love the winter racing carnival in Brisbane and Doomben 10,000 day was always my favourite day to get to the track. I haven’t been in attendance at the track for a few years but this is always a day that gets the pulse racing for me.

Here are my tips for the day at Doomben (with some commentary):

Race 2:

Can’t go past Agitate (No 1) here. Will be too good for this field and loves Doomben having collected each of its 5 wins there.

Race 4:

Follow the form here and there is no better form in this race than that around Leebaz which means my tip is Wistful (No 13). Has been crushed in the fixed price market so I would get on early.

Race 5:

After my first two tips of the day I went searching for a bit of value in this race and on that score I can not fault Jazz Song (No 14). Has improved markedly this preparation and has been gagging for the increase in distance. Each way special for mine.

Race 6:

Back to the short prices for Race 6 because there is no way I can go past Brazen Beau (No 2). Absolutely smashed a similar field in the Champagne Classic and has a trainer (Waller) who loves this race.

Doomben 10,000 (Race 8):

The big race on the card looked like a race in two between Spirit of Boom and Buffering when the nominations closed and the field was finalised. However when I looked at the form my eyes kept coming back to a runner I was on last start, Knoydart. Everything is pointing to a winning performance with this runner: right training, right jockey and right stable. Add in the right odds and this horse is my pick to take on and best the more fancied runners.

As always:

1. Please gamble responsibly and within your means.

2. All care is taken with these tips but no responsibility for losses incurred.

Have an excellent Doomben 10,000 day whether you are at the track or watching from home.

Shumpty’s Punt: Zurich Classic of New Orleans (Golf)

Golf from the US this weekend comes from New Orleans with it hosting the Zurich Classic from TPC Louisiana.  It is a reduced field this week.  John Senden, the Australian who was our best finisher in the US Masters, returns after a week off.  He has the game to challange here and, as his result in the US Masters showed, is in great form.  At $41 to win the tournament and around $7 to finish in the top 5 he is my tip for this weekend’s tournament.

Tip: John Senden to finish top 5

Shumpty’s Punt: ANZAC Weekend Multi

It is another long weekend in Australia this weekend and there is, as always, a plethora of sport both at home and abroad to watch and wager on.

Here is my multi for this weekend’s action:

Leg 1: Indiana Pacers to cover the line (-2.0 points) against the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA.

Leg 2: LA Dodgers to cover the line (-1.5 runs) against the Philadelphia Phillies in the MLB.

Leg 3: Waratahs to cover the line (-1.5 points) against the Blues in Super Rugby.

Leg 4: Melbourne Storm to cover the line (-8.5 points) against the New Zealand Warriors in the NRL.

Leg 5: Fremante Dockers to defeat the North Melbourne Kangaroos by less then 40 points in the AFL.

Leg 6: Gold Coast Suns to defeat Greater Western Sydney by less than 40 points in the AFL.

Leg 7: Reds to cover the line (+6.5  points) against the Hurricanes in Super Rugby.

Leg 8: Canterbury Bulldogs to cover the line (-6.5 points) against the Newcastle Knights in the NRL.

This multi will return around $250 per dollar invested.

As always:

  1. Please gamble responsibly.
  2. Whilst all care is taken with this, and ever tip,  no responsibility is taken by the author for losses incurred.

Shumpty’s Punt: Saturday Multi

It is Saturday and that means one thing: sport!

Here is a four leg multi that I am feeling very confident about:

Leg 1: Fiorente to win the BMW Stakes at Rosehill.

Leg 2: Northern Pride to cover the line (-2.0 points) against Norths Devils in the Intrust Super Cup.

Leg 3: Canberra Raiders to cover the line (+5.5 points) against Penrith Panthers in the NRL.

Leg 4: Queensland Reds to cover the line (-7.0 points) against the Western Force in Super Rugby.

This multi will pay around the $25 mark.
