It has been a while since I have tipped a mid-week sports multi.  Having had some time to consider the form of various teams in American sport over breakfast this morning here is a short multi today that I am feeling very confident about:

Leg 1: Charlotte Bobcats to defeat the Atlanta Hawks by 1-10 points in the NBA.

Leg 2: Brooklyn Nets to defeat the Phoenix Suns in the NBA.

Leg 3: Boston Bruins to defeat the Minnesota Wild in the NHL.

Leg 4: Los Angeles Kings to cover the line (-1.5 goals) against the Phoenix Coyotes in the NHL.

This multi should return around $17.50 for each dollar invested.

Here is my sport multi tip for today’s American sport.  The NHL and NBA are the focus of the multi today. It will pay $8.04 for every dollar invested.

Leg 2: Columbus Blue Jackets to defeat the Dallas Starts in the NHL.

Leg 3: Pittsburgh Penguins to defat the Nashville Predators in the NHL.

Shumpty’s Punt: WGC Accenture Match Play Round 1

It is time for one of my favourite golf tournament, the WGC Accenture Match Play. Whilst a number of world’s best players are not playing at this tournament, the spectre of match play golf adds to the excitement of watching the game.

It also presents an opportunity to have a wager on golf where one would not ordinarily because the results are, essentially, immediate.

In round 1 of the Match Play which will kick off just after midnight Thursday morning I like the following players to win and have put in a multi-bet to match:

Leg 1: Ian Poulter to defeat Ricky Fowler

Leg 2: Bubba Watson to defeat Mikko Iloven

Leg 3: Dustin Johnson to defeat Peter Hanson

Leg 4: Jim Furyk to defeat Chris Kirk

Leg 5: Luke Donald to defeat Matteo Manassero

Leg 6: Hunter Mahan to defeat Gonzalo Fernandez-Castro

Leg 7: Henrick Stenson to defeat Kiradeck Aphibarnarat

This multi will pay around the $35 mark for each dollar invested.

Shumpty’s Punt: Wednesday Basketball Wager

The all-star break in basketball is over and the teams return for the second half of the season today. Here is a 5 leg multi across the NBA and NCAA I am investing in:

Leg 1: Toronto Raptors to cover the line (+2.5 points) against the Washington Wizards in the NBA.

Leg 2: Indiana Pacers to cover the line (-9.5 points) against the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA.

Leg 3: Villanova to cover the line (-5 points) against Providence in the NCAA Mens.

Leg 4: Kentucky to cover the line (-4.5 points) against Mississippi in the NCAA Mens.

Leg 5: Orlando Magic to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks by between 1 – 10 points in the NBA.

This multi should pay around $35 for each dollar invested.

Shumpty’s Punt: Super Rugby Round 1 multi

For something new this season I have decided to put my money where my mouth is and back my tips published on pinkrugby.com each week in the form of a multi bet.

The rules of engagement will be simple: I will back exactly the teams I have selected in the preview each well and the wager each week will be $50.  Rather an muck around with margins and the like I will simply be backing the team I select in each game to be the winner.  i will keep a rolling tally of the profit from this enterprise on this blog each week.

This week is a short round of matches with only 4 teams in play.

I have selected the Cheetahs and the Sharks to be victorious tonight and as both are short price favourites the payout will only be $1.63 but still any return is a good return.

It is Friday and that means it is Fun Multi day. Yet again we are focused on basketball (can the Olympics be over already?) and, in a short day of games are only looking at 3 legs.

Leg 1: Total game score under 120 points in the Michigan State v Northwestern NCAA Basketball game.

Leg 2: Chicago Bulls to cover the line (-3.5 points) against the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA.

Leg 3: Oklahoma City Thunder to cover the line (-10.5 points) against the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA.

This multi should pay a shade under $7 for every dollar invested.
