Welcome to 2015 and punting. Last year was a pretty good year on the punt despite a woeful 2014 Melbourne Cup Carnival and this year, again, I will be posting what I think are the best bets of the days racing, when I have had the time to do the form!
To kick things off, here are my best bets for the first day of racingi of 2015:

One of the best day of the racing calendar is Cox Plate Day and there is a plethora good value runners out there today. Here are my best bets:
Cox Plate (Mooney Valley, Race 8):
Best Bet: Criterion, Number 8
2nd Best Bet: The Cleaner, Number 6 (The Cleaner has become the “people’s champion” and expect its odds to shorten over the day)
Mooney Valley (the other races):
Best Bet: Rocky King, Race 2, Number 1
Next Best Bet: Opinion, Race 5, Number 7
Rosehill:
Best Bet: Grand Marshall, Race 3, Number 6
Doomben
Best Bet: Love Rocks, Race 4, Number 1

Racing in Brisbane today returns to Doomben and with the sun shining there will be good track. Here are my two standouts from today’s program:
Race 2: Number 2 Hi Son
Race 5: Number 1 Aimee
There does look like some value around in the other races but I am not super keen to invest heavily today and for me these two look like that have the hoof on the till.

I have not had a bet on a Saturday for a couple of weeks: I just have not seen anything going around that really inspired confidence. This Saturday though I have a couple of tips that I am feel more than a bit confident about.
