Shumpty’s Punt: the Monday Multi

It is Sunday in America and that means American Football is the focus. Sunday night football pits the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs against the Denver Broncos. Bizarrely the Broncos have been installed as very short priced favourites. I have anchored my multi around the Chiefs covering the line in this game which I think is the bet of the day. It is only a 3 leg multi but I am quietly confident we will be on the money with this one:

Leg 1: Memphis Grizzlies to cover the line (-2.0 points) against the Sacremento Kings in the NBA.

Leg 2: Minnesota Wild to cover the line (-1.5 goals) against the Winnepeg Jets in the NHL.

Leg 3: Kansas City Chiefs to cover the line (-7.5 points) against the Denver Broncos in the NFL.

This multi will pay around the $9.50 mark for every dollar invested.

Leg 2: In the first game of the World Series in the MLB the Boston Red Sox to win with the total game score less than 7.5 runs ($3.30)

Leg 3: Boston Bruins to cover the line (-1.5 goals) against the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL ($2.90)

It is the weekend and there is plenty of sport to watch. There is also plenty of folding money to be won. Here is my multi for this weekend that I am feeling very confident about.

Leg 1: St Louis Cardinals to cover the line (-1.5 runs) in the NLDS Game 2 against the Pittsburgh Pirates ($2.64)

Leg 2: Boston Red Sox to cover the line (-1.5 runs) in the ALDS Game 1 against the Tampa Bay Rays ($2.55)

Leg 3: Columbus Blue Jackets to cover the line (-1.5 goals) in the NHL against the Calgary Flames ($2.43)

Leg 4: Seattle Seahawks to cover the line (-2.5 points) in the NFL against the Indianapolis Colts ($1.95)

Shumpty’s Punt: It is all about Super 15 this weekend

It is a pretty punt this weekend: I am avoiding all other sports, including horse racing, and focusing on Super 15. This is no small part as a result of a follower of my Super 15 preview (pinkrugby.com is the address by the way) who posed to me: “do you ever put your money where your mouth is?” This week, the answer to that question is yes and here is my suggested Super 15 multi for those of you keen to have an investment.

Leg 1: Crusaders to cover the line (-3.5 points) against the Hurricanes in Wellington ($1.92)

Leg 2: Reds to cover the line (-7.0 points) against the Rebels in Melbourne ($1.92)

Leg 3: Highlanders to cover the line (-13.5 points) against the Cheetahs in Invercargill ($1.92)

Leg 4: Brumbies to cover the line (-5.5 points) against the Waratahs in Canberra ($1.92)

Leg 5: Chiefs to defeat the Stormers straight out ($2.00)

Leg 6: Sharks to cover the line (-17.5 points) against the Kings in Port Elizabeth ($1.92)

Leg 7: Blues to cover the line (-8.5 points) against the Bulls in Auckland ($1.92)

That multi will return $100.19 for every dollar that punters invest and is based on the predictions I have made in my preview published this morning. I have not taken the $1.92 about the Chiefs at the line because I think they will easily cover the line in this game.

It has been a bit of a barren spell on the punt on this blog and frankly that has been a combination of not having much spare time to do the form and really think about my bets and not being able to pick my nose when it comes to a winner.

This week (and particularly last night as I watch the highlights of today’s play at the Adelaide Oval) I have had more of a chance to think about some bets for this week.

Here is where I think there might be some winners over the rest of the weekend and where I will be investing my hard earned cash.

Leg 4: Denver Broncos to cover the line (-10.0) against the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL ($1.90)
