Shumpty’s Punt: Thursday’s Tipping

It was another rough day yesterday with basketball results killing the multi whilst the hockey results went in punters favor. Here is today’s multi which is again a mix of hockey and basketball.

Leg 1: Indiana Pacers to cover the line (-6.0 points) against the New York Knicks in the NBA.

Leg 2: Washington Capitals to cover the line (+1.5 goals) against the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL.

Leg 3: Portland Trailblazers to cover the line (-4.0 points) against the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA.

Leg 4: New Jersey Devils to cover the line (+1.5 goals) against the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL.

This is a slightly shorter multi than usual: I expect it will only pay around the $7.50 mark.

We struck out yesterday on the multi. In fact we did not even get close. However, I am supremely confident about getting back into the winner’s circle today with this four leg multi:

Leg 1: St Louis Blues to cover the line (-1.5 goals) against the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL.

Leg 2: Minnesota Timberwolves to cover the line (-3.5 points) against the Washington Wizards in the NBA.

Leg 3: Philadelphia Flyers to defeat the Ottawa Senators in the NHL.

Leg 4: New York Knicks to cover the line (+4 points) against the Detroit Pistons in the NBA.

I was going to have a day off on the punt today but then I saw the odds that have been posted for the New England Patriots in their fixture against the Carolina Panthers and had to wade in. $2.28 constitutes massive overs for them today so I will be have a wager there.

Have also put together a 4 leg multi around the Patriots as follows:

Leg 1: Brooklyn Nets to defeat the Portland Trailblazers in the NBA.

Leg 2: Pittsburgh Penguins to cover the line (-1.5 goals) against the Anaheim Ducks in the NHL.

Leg 3: New England Patriots to defeat the Carolina Panthers in the NFL.

Leg 4: Memphis Grizzlies to covverthe line (+ 8 points) against the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA.

Shumpty’s Punt: Crown Oaks and a Thursday multi

Yesterday’s multi fell at the 3rd hurdle with the Bruins not getting over the line. Have had a look at the form in American sport again this morning and have a 5 leg multi that I am very keen on. It is as follows:

Leg 1: Indiana Pacers to cover the line (-2.5 points) against the Chicago Bulls in the NBA.
Leg 2: Toronto Raptors to cover the line (-2.5 points) against the Charlotte Bobcats in the NBA.
Leg 3: Chicago Blackhawks to cover the line (-1.5 goals) against the Winnipeg Jets in the NHL.
Leg 4: Golden State Warriors to cover the line (-1 points) against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA.
Leg 5: Anaheim Ducks to cover the line (-1.5 goals) against the Phoenix Coyotes in the NHL.

All up this multi will pay $45.78 for each dollar invested. Here’s hoping we can have some more luck than yesterday.

It is Ladies Day at Flemington today and the main race of the day is the Group 1 Crown Oaks over 2500 metres. Kirramosa is a worthy favourite after its slashing run on Saturday however I am going away from her and am tipping Solicit on an each way basis to perform very strongly.

It is the end of the season in the baseball in the US whilst the NHL season is now well underway and Australia is playing India in ODI cricket in India. From these three sports, here is multi that I think has a great chance of getting up. The first leg goes at 6:05am tomorrow so you will have to get on tonight or the first thing in the morning to take advantage of this bet.

Leg 1: Detroit Tigers behind Justin Verlander to defeat the Boston Red Sox in the ALCS ($1.64)

Leg 2: Toronto Maple Leafs to defeat the Minnesota Wild in the NHL ($1.67)

Leg 3: India to defeat Australia in the cricket ($1.60)

This multi will pay $4.38 for each $1 invested (all prices courtesy of sportingbet.com.au).

Horse racing tomorrow in Queensland is from Eagle Farm. I have a couple of horses I like going around that might be worth a wager:
